Apple Cinnamon Creme Bread Pudding
Like French toast, only easier. Perfect for wow-ing overnight guests.
Ingredients:
1 French Baguette, cut into 1” cubes
3 large apples, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch slices
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup Apple Cinnamon Creme Liqueur
4 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted then slightly cooled
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Butter a 9x13” pan
Cut the baguette up into 1” cubes and put into the prepared pan.
Peel 3 apples and cut into 1/2” slices, distribute evenly over the bread cubes.
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, Apple Cinnamon Creme Liqueur, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Slowly add the melted butter to the mixture stirring constantly.
Pour the liquid mixture over the bread cubes and apples. Let this mixture soak for about 15 minutes, allowing the bread cubes to absorb the liquid. To make ahead: prepare this dish up til this step then cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge. You’ll need to add a few minutes to the baking time.
Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Serve with Vermont Maple Syrup and whipped cream!
